You know how picky we can get with our pasta, right? Some people love it with tomatoes, some don't; some crave extra spice, while others prefer a milder flavour - you get the idea. That's why we love it when restaurants let us customise our food, and Twyst Pasta is one gem that lets us build our own pasta!

Simply choose a sauce base, pasta type, protein and topping, and you've got a pasta tailored just for your taste buds. If you're not sure where to start customising, Twyst has got your back with 6 Chef's Signature pastas on their menu. I've tried Miso Butter and Aglio Olio, and they were a delight - although, just a warning, Aglio Olio was a little spicy for me. Check out the pasta menu below:

In addition to pasta, they serve Light Meals and Side Dishes too. Quick heads up, though - Mac & Cheese, Beef Bolognese, Fries, and Karaage are only available at SingPost Centre, Metropolis & JEM. Check out the Light Meal & Side Dishes Menu below:

Twyst Pasta also serves freshly-pressed Paninis made using premium sourdough, but you can only get those at Raffles, Asia Square, SingPost Centre & Metropolis. There's also a Breakfast Promotion available at Raffles Place, Metropolis, SingPost Center and Guoco Tower. View the Paninis and Breakfast Promotion Menu below:

I've only visited Twyst at JEM before this, which does not offer paninis and coffee. But guess what? They've just opened their 7th store at SingPost Centre, Paya Lebar. So, of course, I had to swing by to not only taste their pasta but also try their paninis and grab a coffee from Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee next door!

Alfredo - $10.90

Penne, Smoked Duck, Cherry Tomato, Baby Spinach

First off, let's talk about the pasta. Having tried Miso Butter and Aglio Olio at Twyst JEM, both pretty solid choices, I wanted to try a new pasta this time. So, I went for the Chef's Signature creamy Alfredo pasta.

Alfredo sauce typically has a thick and velvety texture due to the combination of butter, heavy cream, and Parmesan cheese. The first thing I noticed is that Twyst's has a slightly thinner texture. But you know what, I think it works! If an Alfredo pasta sauce is overly thick, one might feel sick of the pasta at the end of the meal. The penne pasta is spot-on al dente, coated generously with the creamy sauce. The spinach and tomatoes, which were cooked well, adds a nice balance to the creaminess. However, after a few bites, I found the pasta a tad bit salty - probably from the smoked duck and cream. Still, it was an appetising meal!

Scrambled Egg with Cheese Panini - $4.90

I was really excited to try these paninis as they're not available on the Twyst JEM menu. A panini's essentially a grilled sandwich made with Italian bread, typically flattened with those classic golden brown ridges. Apparently, everything - bread, cheese melt, vegetables, and other fillings - must be flattened in a panini to allow heat to spread evenly, because the panini grill is not meant for cooking but just heating the sandwich. I went for the Scrambled Egg with Cheese Panini which sounded like a delicious combination of filling.

The panini is best eaten right after it was warmed, as that is when the bread has that maximum crispiness which goes really well with the creamy scrambled egg and cheese. Otherwise, when the panini gets cooled down to room temperature, it gets a little tough to chew. Overall it was a tasty panini sandwich, but slightly on the pricier side.

(Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee) Flat White - $5.70

Conveniently, there's Tiong Hoe Specialty Coffee right next to Twyst Pasta, perfect for a coffee lover like me. After pasta and panini, I was craving a good cup of coffee.

The Flat White I ordered was fragrant and delicious. The body provides a smooth and velvety texture, while the well-balanced acidity ensures a clean and refined finish. I forgot to ask where the beans originated from, but it leaned more towards berry and acidic notes than nutty or chocolatey. It definitely hit the spot after a hearty meal!
